vurr vs notion: flexibility against opinion

notion can do this. that is not in question. the question is whether the system you build in it survives a busy quarter.

you can absolutely track decisions in notion. a database, seven properties, a couple of views, a template button. an afternoon's work and it will look excellent.

we are not going to pretend otherwise, because plenty of people do exactly this and it works.

what notion actually is here

notion is a general workspace. it has no opinion about what a decision is, which is its greatest strength and the reason these systems decay.

the decision database you design is only as good as the schema you chose in month one, and only as alive as your willingness to maintain it in month six. nothing in notion will notice that you stopped filling in the outcome field. nothing will tell you that eleven decisions are past their review date. it holds whatever you put in, faithfully, including nothing.

notion has moved on this. notion agent, on business and enterprise plans, can execute multi-step work in your workspace, including building databases from a document. as of may 2026 custom agents bill through credits at ten dollars per thousand, on top of the plan. it is a real capability. it is still general purpose, and it still does not know what a good decision record looks like, because that is not its job.

the honest case for notion

that last point decides it. if you are the kind of person whose notion setups are still running a year later, build it in notion and put the money elsewhere. we would rather say that than sell you something you do not need.

the case for vurr

notion is a place to keep what you decided. vurr works the decision itself and then keeps it. if you only need the keeping, notion is genuinely fine.
